Criminal Indictment of Four Houston-Area Uber Drivers
Federal prosecutors indicted four Houston-area Uber drivers on kidnapping charges involving female passengers. Court records also accuse the drivers of sexually assaulting riders across Houston and The Woodlands.
The alleged incidents occurred between 2021 and 2025. Operation Lighthouse united federal prosecutors, the FBI, Houston police, and local sheriff’s offices. Furthermore, authorities believe additional victims may exist and encourage them to contact law enforcement.
Each federal kidnapping charge carries a potential life sentence. Uber reportedly terminated or suspended the accused drivers’ accounts after receiving complaints. However, these allegations raise serious questions about rideshare passenger safety throughout Texas.
